Week Four EOC: The Role of Women in Contemporary Ads

Ads that empower women are so important in todays society. I  think its hard for girls to grow up to be women with confidence when they are constantly told bad things about their gender. As girls we are told we should be a certain way, look a certain way, and act a certain way and it is not acceptable to be any other way. We are told boys are stronger and smarter than us. We need to let girls know that you are stronger than these people are saying, and that is why I find these campaigns to be so important and something every girl of every age needs to see.



Make Yourself is a powerful ad by the way it makes girls feel. Its telling them they are able to do really anything they want as long as they put in the work and dedication. Its tells them to make themselves strong, proud, fit, etc. All encouraging a woman to be the best they can be. I think it also have to do with standards and what women should and shouldn't be able to do. This taking that all away and saying that they are able to do those things. They are able to be strong, fit, and proud.



I think this is such an empowering ad for women because it sends the message that any girl of any age  are able to do just as much as a man would be able to do. That they should not be ashamed for being a women and feel any less of a person. The whole ad revolves around asking girls if they are able to do certain things and having these girls and women do these things and talking about their experience. Its such an empowering ad not only because it talks about everything they're able to do but it also shows these girls doing these things.
